Is there anthing stopping you from leaving that employer as soon as you get pr. Example on 2 year work permit via duel intent lmia. Pr comes day after one year. One year still remains on permit. Do you have to finish that one year or can you leave as soon as you activate new sin?

From an immigration point of view not really an issue with CIC but your employer may sue you for employment related breaches if say you signed a contract with applicable 'I'll stay this long' clauses that are not in themselves breach of employment laws.

They day you get P/R, you have freedom to move and work within Canada.

Towards immigration, there is no problem if you leave.

Towards the employer, you have to look at your contract. I know of one employer who put it in contracts that if his workers left within 2 years, they would have to pay for the employers cost of getting the LMIA. However, in that province, it was against the law to require the employee to pay for the cost of hiring them so the contracts were ineffective and the employers could leave and did not have to pay anything. If you have a similar clause in your contract, you might want to talk with the employment standards in your province or a lawyer to find out if the clause is effective or not.
