I have a quick question about my current visa status which I cant find clear information about on CIC website and would love some clarification please :D ;D

So I am currently on a 2 year IEC work visa, from Ireland.

This is up on the 3rd of June, 2015.

My current employer is applying for a LMIA for me.

I have aprox 3 months left on my current visa.

I feel my current visa will be up before I get my LMIA result back.

....My question is, what can I do to stay in the country and work when my current visa runs out?... If anything.

From my research, it seems I can not actually apply for a new work permit until I get a positive LMIA back, is this true??

If so, my only option would be to change my status to a 'visitor' until my LMIA comes back. Then I can apply for a new work permit which should allow me to work until my PR is processed. Is this correct??

Any help or Info on this would be greatly appreciated.

(Oh, also is it 30 or 90 days that you should apply to change to visitor status, before your visa runs out )

Cheers for any help in advance :)

So long as the visitor permit application is submitted before your IEC visa expires, it doesn't really matter. You can apply online the day before an it's ok. Obviously you'd want to try a bit before, just in case you have any problems.

You mention PR, have you applied already?

Yeah I will make sure to apply for this before my IEC visa is up. From what I've researched it seems like this shouldn't be a problem.

No, I haven't applied for PR yet.. I need to get a positive LMIA back before I can apply.
