Can my employer do LMIA on the job I'm already doing and would that be considered a job offer.

Although I can't think of a reason why there aren't residents who can't /won't do this job. I've been told that I'm very good at it, and have good work ethics, more than most, but do those qualities matter for LMIA?

I thought I'd ask here.

Thanks.

Yes - your employer can certainly apply for an LMIA.

They will need to go through the entire LMIA process, including advertising your job to prove no Canadian could be hired. The fact you are good at your job unfortunately does not guarantee approval.

What if, say, they've been hiring and letting people go prior to me because they couldn't find the 'right' person to fill the spot.

They can find people who qualify quite easily but there are other factors .But I guess those don't factor in.

It makes you wonder what sort of jobs people do apply LMIA for, I may look that up later but I think I got my answer for my OP.

Thanks again!

Strongly recommend that you and your employer read through the LMIA application details. This is what your employer will need to do to try to get an LMIA approved. See link below:
