Hello,

1) Is getting LMIA for EE is same as getting it for Closed Work permit ?

2) Recent changes in LMIA now only requires 1 year job offer for EE...is it same for closed work permit ?

3) What is the normal duration for which closed work permit is issued ? (2 years ?)

4) Which factors are important in increasing chances for positive LMIA assessment ? Job offer with higher wage than median wage in the region, NOC with outlook of more jobs than seekers ? , is city important ?

5) I am especially confused about importance of region...suppose for an NOC, Toronto has one of the lowest median wage in Canada...thus, a decent job offer package will obviously go above median wage which can be a positive..but toronto also has highest population in Canada..which can be a negative...What do you think outweigh more than the other ?

6) I have seen few ads about pre-approved LMIA (mainly cooks, food service supervisor, nanny jobs). Does this pre-approved LMIA also offers 50 points in EE ?

thanks for any help!

Hello,

1) Is getting LMIA for EE is same as getting it for Closed Work permit ?no. It's not same. However you can apply for dual intent lmia which can be used for ee and wp.

2) Recent changes in LMIA now only requires 1 year job offer for EE...is it same for closed work permit ?lmia job offer has different rule then job on closed lmia exempt wp.

3) What is the normal duration for which closed work permit is issued ? (2 years ?)that dependes on your job offer and employer request.

4) Which factors are important in increasing chances for positive LMIA assessment ? Job offer with higher wage than median wage in the region, NOC with outlook of more jobs than seekers ? , is city important ?wage is one factor but mainly if employer can show that they are unable to find canadian with required qualification and experience for job.
