Hello Everyone!!

I´m working in northern Alberta with NOC 7245, full-time, I work 70 hours per week and I earn around 30 CAD. I have IEC-WHV until May 2015. I have doubt about that one work permit I will need apply (LMIA, AINP, CEC). I would like to get PR and stay in Canada to long time. I hope you can help me.

Thank you soy much,

Your employer needs to apply for the LMIA, if he gets a positive decision you can apply for a work permit.
AINP and CEC are permanent rescidency immmigration programs, there are different conditions to qualify under each program.
AINP has a huge backlog, the program could be closed before the end of 2014.

If he gets a positive LMO, What kind of work permit I need? I apply for this work permit myself or company?, How long time is this Work permit?, Thank you

One step at the time...your employer needs to apply for the LMIA, if approved , you can apply for the work permit . After one year working full time in a noc b position, you could qualify for PR under CEC. You must wait for the new requirements for express entry... In the meantime take the English test (ielts or Celpip) if your employer does not want to apply for LMIA or if it does not get approved, you can apply for PR from your country.

Hi susana

In Temporary Foreign Workers Program, I have seen my job (7245) is inside Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) - Higher Skilled Ocupations. If I have a certification provincial, my employer doesn´t need apply to LMIA??, Is he applies to FSTP to Permanent Resident for me?, Sorry I don´t understand nothing,

If you hold a certificate of qualification issued by a provincial/territorial authority your employer does not need to apply for an LMIA an you can apply directly to CIC under the FSTP for a work permit. You need a job offer from your employer.

To apply for PR you need 2 years of experience, write an English exam , a permanent job offer among other requirements and YOU apply on your own.

I'm afraid is not, what you have is an International Qualifications Assesment. The NOC 7245 is part of the
724 Electrical trades and electrical power line and telecommunications workers, you need to visit this page to get more information regarding skill trades

Experienced Workers

Do your skills, knowledge and experience meet Alberta’s industry standards?
Workers gain their skills, knowledge and experience in different ways. If you have work experience and training in a skilled trade and occupations from another province, territory, country or regulatory authority, you may need to have your credentials recognized in order to work in Alberta.

Alberta recognizes some trade certificates from other provinces or territories, the Department of National Defence – Canada and credential issuing authorities from outside of Canada. Workers who hold a recognized trade certificate do not require an Alberta Qualification Certificate to work in the province.

what is the LMIA should i get to work as any profession ?

Yes - you need an LMIA if you want to work in Canada as a temporary worker. As explained in your other thread, you cannot apply for an LMIA yourself. Only your employer can do this. So the first thing you need to do is find an employer in Canada who is willing to offer you a full time job. That employer must then advertise the job for at least a month to prove no Canadian could be found for the role. Next, the employer must pay a $1K fee and submit the LMIA application. The application will take anywhere from 6 to 16+ weeks to process and there is no guarantee of approval. If the LMIA is approved - you can then apply for a work permit. So the first step is for you to find an employer. Again, you can't apply for the LMIA yourself.

Susana, Thank you so much for information.

My job is 7245, it is inside FSTP (Supporting a Permanent Resident Visa Application). If my employer apply to LMIA about this program, Can I apply to PR? or I need to have two years experience?

v

how many years of experience do you have in the same occupation, here and in your own country ?

Write an English test , Celpip or ielts. You need to reach the benchmarks required for the Federal Skilll trades program.

I have 6 months in Canada and 6 years in Spain to experience in this ocupation. I have IELTS Generic.

It seems like you are elegible to apply now under the FSTP , if you meet the minimum level of Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 5 for speaking and listening, and CLB 4 for reading and writing.

You have more than 2 years of exoerience in the trade, you are currently working in Canada in a job that is exempt from the labour market opinion requirement under an international agreement (IEC) you meet all job requirements for the skilled trade , you just need to have an offer of full-time employment for a total period of at least one year for the same employer you are currently working.

No need to apply for the LMIA.

Good luck !

Currently I am working, my actual job letter is Full-time Permanent, is valid? or I need other joob offer? (My WHV expire in May 2015)
