Living in Canada applying for outland spousal sponsorship

Hi there,

I am a Hong Kong national currently living in Canada, and I have applied for outland spousal sponsorship. I would like to clarify two points regarding my application:

1. Will my file be processed entirely at CPC-Ottawa in Canada, or will it be transferred to the Hong Kong Visa Office (VO) for further assessment?
2. For processing times, should I refer to the inland sponsorship timeline (since I am residing in Canada), or the outland sponsorship timeline (since my application is outland)?

Outland but posted processing times are not always representative of actual processing times.

1. Entirely up to IRCC based on their own workload management.
2. Outland but these are very rough guidelines. Many go faster than the posted (consider the posted to mean ~80% of files processed within that time)
