Hi there

Me and my wife are just about to submit my application to Paris from Switzerland.

I am supposed to write down all the countries (as well as dates and reason why I travelled there) I have ever travelled to since I am 18. I travelled a lot but have managed to pretty much write all my travels down - sometimes with exact dates sometimes with just the month.

However I am living in Switzerland next to the border to Germany and I go to Germany all the time, 1-2 times a week. When I was living in Vancouver I went to the States a lot for weekends. I have no idea which dates I was in either Germany or the States.

Can I just explain them that living next to the border I was going to these countries on a regular basis and don't know the dates?

Any help would be appreciated!

Yes, it will do if you just make a note at the bottom of the page that you are living near the boarder of Germany and frequently traveling to that country and the dates are not recorded.

I went through Paris as well ...

The travel document is a hard one to fill in huh :) Especially since in Europe countries are so close together and a lot of people visit (for whatever reason) other countries regularly.

I only mentioned countries for vacation purposes (not the neighbouring countries) and of course Canada and the States.

Than I added a paper stating that I also visited country X Y Z etc on a regular ocassion, whether it was for work, pleasureand that sometimes it wasfor the duration of a day, sometimes a week etc ... I added that I had no idea of exact dates. They seemed to be OK with that.

I am waiting on my Swiss husband's application and we filed in December. We made a note on that form stating that due to our relative proximity to the boader we cross frequently. Too frequently to rememberer have official records of. So far so good. Paris has our application now. We recorded all international travel we could remember and/or prove.

Hope that helps,

Olivia
