Hi,

My wife and I both created accounts on the CIC website (I am the Sponsor and my wife the PA). I just received AOR1 in my email with UCI and APP#. Is this my UCI and APP# or my wife's?

I've tried to link the application so far to only my wife's account with no luck.

Little confused on what to do...

Any help would be great.

MyCIC only links up to the PA's application, and you need to use the information from her IMM0008, along with the application number, to answer the linking questions. Don't enter the passport information, it's not needed.

You can use eCAS to check the status of your sponsor application (and your wife's PR app after you receive SA): http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/my_application/status.asp

The application number you received is common to both parts of your Spousal PR application. The UCI# is yours, the sponsor.

Hi,

Thanks for reply. I guess I've tried now 5 times in the last 24 hours so now I need to wait till I try again.

Guess option to choose to link would then be "Application# and family name" since UCI I received is mine and not my wife's? I was previously trying to link user no option "Application# and UCI.

Schedule A and Police check are not required until SA is granted? Or?

"Application # and family name" worked for me. Since the UCI# you received is yours, it won't work with MyCIC.

Since you're using the new forms and application process, I'm not 100% sure what happens now after AOR1. My understanding is that CIC will soon send you an email inviting you to link your paper application, and give you a list of items that need to be uploaded through MyCIC.

Ya I just wasn't sure if we needed to link within 7 days of receiving AOR1 or SA. I'm under the assumption it's when I receive SA, but just wanted to try and get a head start on linking up and getting that arranged (since I've read on this forum people having difficulties).

Thanks for your help and will reply if I could use any further advice...

Much appreciated!

When I received AOR1 my wife received an email from CIC within 1 minute asking her to link her application within 7 days. I don't have SA approval yet so I'm assuming it's 7 days from AOR1. I hope this helps.
Have a great day!

Really eh, my wife hasn't received an email. We were trying to play it safe and link hers ASAP so we could see when we needed to provide further documents. Figured it could be done without receiving SA.

Very strange, but will try to link up again tomorrow evening.

Saw the instructions below on another thread.
Tried it, but didn't work for me unfortunately. We are still "unlinked" but will try again tomorrow. lol
Hopefully it'll work for you though.

Not mine. Credit goes to the owner.

1. Logged in with GC Key account.
2. Permanent Residence > Family Class (Spouses)
2. Application Number and Family Name - Copy/pasted application number from email (including the F) and entered PA's last name. If you don't have App Number, use Family Name, Birthday, Place of Birth
3. City of Birth - I entered 1 space (hit spacebar once)
4. Country of Birth - Selected PA's country of birth
5. Passport Info - Did not enter any passport info
6. Other Application Info - Filled out the other application info as per our application and put '2' as the number of members in the application."

Ok cool. Will try that in 24 hours as we are locked out as we tried 5 unsuccessful attempts...haha.

Thanks again...

Little update. We were able to link our application to my wife's account this morning.

Nothing mentioned about submitting Schedule A or Medical so I'd assume that will come once I'm granted SA.

Good to hear DB! Hopefully you'll get SA too soon.
Have a great day!
