Hi everyone,

I am thinking to apply LMIA, have few questions about this program, need your advice please.

1. I am a insurance advisor, has basic and commission, total income is above the average wage, which is 26/ hr, but basic is not. Am I qualified for LMIA? (job title and wage)

2. 90 days to apply LMIA, is the first day from employer advertise on newspaper/internet/ job bank? or the date I sign my contract?

3. Is there any government website provides LIMA issue rate?

Thank you for your time and help.
Wish you all the best. ;)

Your employer will have to apply, you cannot.

As long as your wage is above median and there are no Canadians to fill the job. You're good.

Advertise for a reasonable length of time (about a month) to allow broad exposure of the vacancy to Canadians and permanent residents;
After 90 days of job postings . Tell your employer to keep records of all resumes, all people interviewed, selected, etc. Good luck

Very painful process lol

Thank you so much Dell2.
For the last question, I think I put wrong wording. I am trying to find out how many people receive LMIA and how many people fail.
My case is I am thinking to switch job, new employer already did recruiting process. I need to find out if I need to take this risk to switch job. If LIMA passing rate is low, I may choose to stay with my current company.
Thank you again Dell2.
