Hi Guys,

In my OINP application I submitted a bank statement which is only in my husband's name (dependant/spouse) and a copy of our marriage certificate. I was contacted by an officer to provide another document and she did not make mention on the bank statement. My file has since been forwarded to a senior officer for a decision.

I was just doing some reading on CIC's website and I saw a requirement for submission after being issued an ITA is to submit an official bank letter and it must be in the applicant's name. Has anyone ever submitted and gotten through with PR after submitting a bank letter only in the spouse's/dependant's name? Does anyone have guidance on this?

Thank you!

As far as I know the funds have to be in the name of the primary applicant or has to be at least a shared account but if the primary applicant's name isnt mentioned at all, I think that would be a problem.

I am not sure if OINP is more lenient but I am pretty certain that CIC requires it to be in the primary applicant's name. So even if OINP works out for you, you would still need to fix the problem before you submit your documents after ITA.
