I was just wondering when including letters from friends and family, is it sufficient to print the email that they wrote? Or would you suggest having an actual formal letter? All of my friends and family live in Canada and I'm in Italy so it's just easier if they send me an email.
TIA

Are you common-law or married? Common-law applicants are required to send two official statutory declarations from friends/family. I don't think it's required for married couples, but it would be much stronger than emails. Emails are much easier to fake.

yea i totally overlooked the notarized letters. I sent about 6-7 lettes that were signed by my relatives and my partners relatives. Im hoping this doesnt come back to bite me since they arent notarized.

In that case, I don't believe you should require any such letters. We included none, albeit via a different VO for processing.

The letters are about my intent to return to Canada.I've been living abroad for almost 4 years now. So my friends and family are writing letters to support my claim that I will return to Canada.

I don't think those types of letters need to be notarized, as they are not "required" documents. i think letters need to be notarized when they are proving commonlaw status of a couple.

I had my friend in Canada write a letter to say we would be living with her when we come back (I'm currently living in the UK sponsoring my common law partner) and I had her post it to me, signed. She also said in the letter that she'll be helping me get my business going again - all for proof of intent to return to Canada.

That's the best way I would say because as another responder pointed out, emails can be faked.
