All letters of support I have such a #1 A notarized letter from my parents that says we can live with them until we get on our feet etc, #2 Letter from our family priest, #3 Letters from friends saying they support the genuineness of our relationship and will support us etc. I was planning to send the originals paper clipped to the envelope with Canadian postage that they sent them to me with. Should I be sending the originals and will I get them back if I do?

If it is notarized you should send the original (make a copy for yourself), but if not I would send copies. I do not know whether you will get them back or not. I got nothing back.

I would send originals whether they are notarized or not and keep a copy for yourself. If you do want the letters back, I would attach a note requesting for them to be returned. I'm not sure if you will actually get them back though -- that will be up to the discretion of the IO. I've only ever heard of photos and personal letters (i.e. letters exchanged between the couple) being returned. I didn't get my letters of support back but I did get our photos back.
