Letters from Canadian relatives offering temporary housing

How should a close relative offering to house us temporarily till we find a place of our own demonstrate this to CIC. A simple letter, a notarised letter mailed to us, an email... how?

We want to include this (among many other things) as part of our application to demonstrate Sponsor's intention to re-establish life in Canada (since the sponsor cant have a rental agreement at this point) and also to demonstrate that we have a specific plan in place to support ourselves once there. (This letter is just one part of it)

Also for letters from friends and family saying that they know of our plan to relocate to canada.. will emails do, or are we better of if we have notarised letters?

For the first, I would get that notarized. It doesn't need to be anything formal, just a simple letter confirming you are returning to Canada and they will be providing you with assistance and a place to stay while you get on your feet.

For the other letters, they can just scan or email them to you.
