Hello experts,

I would like to seek information about a letter that explains about the financial support. I am helping a friend apply for an extension of a study permit and her parents are providing for all her educational expenses here in Canada. I want to get a letter from her parents to indicate that they provide all her financial support. I am not sure if the letter needs to be notarised like an affidavit. I know it has to be translated in English but is the translation and the original letter enough or do they need to do notarise it too.

Also, for the proof of financial support, is the four months of bank statement and a letter from her parents enough? She does not work and nor have any other proof. Please advise.

Thanks

A: The translation needs to be notarized and sent along with the original.

A: 6 months of Bank statement and/or bank letter is required.
