Does a letter of employment have any bearing on a CEC application? Is it worth including with this type of application?

Are your referring to the Offer letter or the work experience letter itself ?

Not sure what you mean by "Letter of Employment".

Per the current CEC Document Checklist, letters of reference are required, and without them (and the required information), your application will fail.

Prior to the Jan 2012 revision of the checklist, the required letter was called a "Letter of Employment" (not letter of reference.) Name change for the same document - just as critical then as now.

So it depends what you mean. If you have the required letter of reference and it contains all the required information, you do not need any additional letter.

Hi,

I mean an offer of employment letter. If I've been offered a permanent full time job and I include that with my CEC application does that affect anything? In a positive or negative way..?

The employment letter that you submit to CIC should state that you are in a permanent full-time position, so there would be no need for the job offer letter .

Senorita,

So do you mean to say that one should also attach offer letter only in case he or she holds a temporary full time position and it is not required in case it a permanent full time position?

No. If the reference letter from the employer says you are permanent, is there is a need to include a job offer letter that says the same thing? That said, you can include it if you like.

If the offer letter has additional information not covered in the reference letter (ie clarifying duties, etc), then it may help to submit it. But ideally the reference letter(s) would cover all the requirements per the document checklist.

If you mean for a job you have not yet taken, then it has no value. The CEC application is evaluated as pass/fail - you either meet the requirements on the date of your application, or you don't. Future employment has no relevance.

Given the way that VOs sometimes misunderstand things, I think there is potential for misunderstanding if you submit it, so would advise against including it.
