Hey guys,

I'm just about done, tying up the final end pieces to it all. I just am trying to out together a "letter of employment" that I need as I am the SPONSOR to my husband that my boss is going to sign. I am not on a Salaried position, nor do I have set hours per week. I am not sure what details I need to supply or if I can be too vague...

"BLANK was hired at BLANK on May 14th, 2014. She was hired indefinitely as a Full-time Server. BLANK has just completed her server training and has requested full time hours. We also have the intention of grooming Erin for a leadership position at BLANK, which could lead to a Salaried Management position."

Is this too vague. Servers wage in BC is $9.00/hr (which is disgusting) and no one can even calculate what tips you will make per shift, obviously. I don't have a set schedule per week... the serving industry is sort of a gamble, so I can't really write this without being confusing or sounding like an idiot. I'm not sure what to do other than indicate that I am working full time, and that I am being considered and conditioned for leadership roles at my job, which could be salaried, depending on high up I go.

Please help. I really cannot wait until this is over. Stressing me out.

Erin and Danny

Just a minor suggestion...

delete your real name, your boss' real name and perhaps the establishment from what you've posted here. Otherwise, everyone will know your personal information...and `his' too.

Oh...and welcome to Vancouver!

So...your boss completed the LMO for your position and you have already been approved for your work permit?

Sorry, but what is the purpose of the letter? Are you the sponsor, or the applicant?

I am the Sponsor for my husband :)

The letter is fine. You haven't been on welfare so no problems . E.I. is fine to collect. Make sure to submit your option c printout.

I work for a large company so I got my letter of employment from the Employee Services department and it was really straight forward. This is it:

"To whom it may Concern:

We hereby confirm that *Miss Marla Singer* is currently employed at *business name* since *date*. Her position is *title*. Her annual income is *$$$*."

Then they signed it.

That's it and it worked fine for CIC. I don't think you need to give super personal detail about your plans and your hours. Since it's a spousal sponsorship you don't even technically need to be employed anywhere, just not on welfare.
