Hello, my mother & two brothers applied for a Refugee Travel Document on Jan 15, 2019...

25 days later, they received a letter from IRCC stating that they want to know the city and country where they were born (even though they stated that in the application).

So we’re just wondering why is that? It doesn’t seem to be normal because I applied the same exact way before them and was issued a RTD with no problems.

They likely want to verify because some protected people may not have good language skills, may get confused about what the paperwork is asking. etc. Sounds like your family have all applied for RTD and all want to travel or have already traveled. This is somewhat unusual so would imagine your file is being looked at to may sure you aren't breaking any rules. If you aren't breaking any rules you don't have to worry and resubmit the information.

Yes, we did wrote them letters and included a copy of their expired passports with it. I hope they don’t reject it because the passports are expired.
