Length of Stay

I am currently holding a temporary resident(tourist) visa which is valid for 1 year.

Is there any maximum period that I am permitted to stay in Canada within the 1 year or can I stay until 4 months prior to my visa expiring.

There are no details mentioned on my passport when I entered Canada.
