Hello All!!

With the new points based system put in place(march 2017), most of the applicants (June/Aug 2016) will lose points and might fall short of points to qualify. What are the legitimate ways to increase points.

1. If you are married and fall short of points and as a single applicant you make through, is it advisable/legal to remove your spouse? will you evaluated as single ?

2. Also saw that you would get 1 point for staying in Quebec for at least 2 weeks, so can we take a tourist visa and stay in Quebec for some 2+ weeks ?

Regards,
Sen

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
1- I don't think it legal to "remove your spouse"...i suppose that would be misrepresentation.

2- Yes, if you go as tourist for 2weeks you can have 1 point, and 2 if you stay for 3 months..etc

3- Perfecting your french/english and taking the exams again.

4- Having a job offer.

etc.

Removing spouse is legal. This just means that person applying as single will sponsor his/her spouse after landing as PR.

Thanks for the update, in this case applicant will be considered as single and applicant would need minimum points required for a single/unmarried applicant, correct ??

Can't say exactly. But there's threat for all applicants 2015/2016.they have reduced points for AOT. As you have applied November, there's a risk.

Are you sure about this (removing a still married spouse from application)? Can you direct me to your source about this or explain more if this is a personal experience?

If you applied as couple , then you can get additional points for new-born kids. ;)

What about additional work-experience that you have accumulated after application submission.
