Legal to work as Freelancer on visitor visa in canada ?

Hi,

I am on visitor visa in Canada, I am waiting for PNP which might come soon HOPEFULLY. I have question like, I got job offer via job portal from USA for temporary job, Is it fine if i work from here as freelancer?. Am i allowed to work like that ?.I have to sign contract with company for 3 month for 20 hours/week schedule.

Please let me know your input guys.

You can work as a freelancer without a work permit provided your employer isn't Canadian, none of the projects you are working on are for Canadian companies, and none of the clients involed are Canadian. If there is anything "Canadian" about the work you are going to be doing, it's illegal to take that job without a work permit.
