Hey,

I have a question which might seem silly. Is it legal to remain in Canada on a temporary resident visa (due to expire July 31st, 2015) after resigning from job (closed work permit)?

Also, can I leave the country and return using the same TR visa, even though I have resigned?

I assume your work permit is also valid until july 2015. if so then you can stay in canada till its valid. i am not sure whether you can go out of country and come back.

thanks. yea, the work permit goes until July 31st as well. I left and went to my home country, with the idea that I could go back to visit/remain using the Temporary Resident Visa, but now that I think about it, I'm not sure what customs will say to me when I tell them I resigned from my job but I'm trying to enter the country again :-[

Hello,

Just wondering if you came back to Canada and how it went at port of entry. Did they let you in or asked any documents? I am in similar situation-resigned from my job going back home for few months and than planning to come back on my closed work permit

Thanks

Hey, no I'm still out of Canada. Waiting to hear about my new work permit otherwise it makes now sense for me to go back before PR.
