Hi all, this forum is the best. I see so many informed folks out here who have helped so many people in need of info.
Id like to say shout out to all these folks who take thewir time to give others this expensive advice at 0 cost. Stay Blessed.

Now onto my story and situation.
I am a Legacy Refugee Claimant. Applied as a refugee on July 31st of 2012. Since then No hearing, nada. After working many odd jobs as a general Labourer, and being exploited by dodgy employment agencies, due to my experience in the field of food production, I managed to land a permanent well paying job with all the benefits etc, with one of the leading food production companies, not just in Canada, but the whole of North America.

I am now on my second month at this company and I am eternally grateful for the opportunity. So I have now worked in this same field/role from Dec 2012 till present. This has got me thinking whether it would be possible for me to also apply through the Highly Skilled or the Canadian Experience class and try to obtain PR by these means rather than wait on a Refugee Hearing that seems to never arrive and has a 50/50 chance of failure, quite possibly because the person hearing my case might've just woke up on the wrong side of the bed that morning.

So my question to those in the know is this : Would that route/s be possible and how feasible is it that due to my 2 and 1/2 years experience in that industry, tht I be successful in being accepted under the Canadian Experience Class or Highly Skilled Workers class.?

Sorry for the long post. I do hope someone has the info and can well advise me on such.

Many Thanks in advance,
CanadianSon! :)

You don't qualify for CEC. You cannot count the work experience you gained in Canada while waiting for a decision on your refugee case towards CEC.

If you qualify, you can certainly apply for PR under one of the other immigration streams. Note that to apply through the Federal Skilled Worker stream, your experience would have to fall under one of the 50 occupations on this list: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/complete-applications.asp

They make Legacy refugees too??? I thought only Subaru makes Legacy, anyhow I am sure someone with more information can help you out

Talk to the PNP in your province and see if you may qualify to apply under there.

I think the oP will find that all provinces that refugee claimants are not eligible for PNP.
