I'm currently on a study permit and when I leave Canada for good (finishing school and moving out of the country), do I have to turn the permit to some immigration officers at the airport? Should I ask for a stamp on passport as well?

Interesting, then how can they catch people who overstay?
Just checked, CIC's new rules seem to suggest the study permit automatically expires 90 days after you're done with school, so I guess there is no need to surrender it.
