Hey Guys

I was international student in BC 8 years ago, and had a credit card debt of $ 1000 back then, I traveled to my country and for personal and urgent reasons I couldn't get back to Canada at time, by time I totally forgot about it, now I applying for express entry program for immigration, I am wondering if will any problem will happen with my file because of this debt ?? on the other hand, what I can do now to pay this debt from my country I didn't know even my account number or any other details except bank name, or it is better to wait until arrive to Canada then pay to the bank directly ... please advice

There may not be much you can do until you get to Canada. Try to pay off the entire amount as soon as you return.

Assume your credit rating has taken a hit which could impact your ability to be approved for credit products (e.g. credit cards, mortgage). Could also impact your ability to rent a house / apartment - and may also appear on some employer background checks (depending on the employer).

many thanks for your kind reply, my concern is that it could affect my express entry file by any way? could they banned my approval for example for this reason or it's 2 separate lines ?? I know I must pay it all once arrive to be able to do anything in Canada

No - it won't impact your Express Entry application.
