Leaving CANADA for 1 month while PR application is in process(URGENT)

Hello everyone!

I applied for PNP 14 August 2014 and got the nomination on 22 October 2014 from Ontario. It was under the International Masters Graduate stream(without job offer). Then my application for PR reached CIC on 4th December 2014. Its been more than 2 months already, No AOR.

My question is,
Can I leave Canada for a month or two to visit my home country?
Does it anyhow affect the application?
If so, which stage is the best time to go out of Canada?
And for what duration?

Hey n.zaman

I don't think it won't cause any problems even if you leave Canada while in process since I visited my hometown when mine was being processed.
but you have to notice that it's better to be in Canada if they send you AOR with medical request. I believe they give us limited time (like 30days or 60days I am not sure at the moment XD)
So, it's better to stay in Canada to submit any documents CIC request asap but it's totally fine to travel as long as you can deal with those document requests.
 
No effect whatsoever. I went to India for 45 days while being a PNP Nominee (Sask). Confirmed with Saskatchewan Immigration Department and CIC, and they said as long as I am meeting the conditions of my nomination, they don't care where I am and that all correspondence is via email only, so you don't have to be physically present at your mailing location. I made sure I am meeting the conditions while I was out of country (I was on full paid vacation as continued employment was a condition in my case). So from my understanding, you are able to leave your province (Ontario in your case) as long as leaving the province does not void any of the conditions of your nomination. Good luck.

Actually there was obligation for PNP application. But as I have already got it and now on CIC application process. I am not sure that the obligations apply or not.
 
I am currently doing out of field job and I do have a PGWP. But my visa is still "Student Visa" while has validity for more 6 months. Should I get a new visa against my PGWP before travelling.

I would strongly recommend getting a Worker Visa. Your status has changed and even though you have a student visa, you are not really a student. You are a worker and need a worker visa to enter Canada. To explain a little better - When you enter Canada, the Immigration Officer will ask you "Where are you studying?" and if you say you are "Working", even if you have a valid visa, they will turn you around on the next plane home. You have to realize that you are not allowed to enter Canada as a Student, but as a Worker. This can cause serious problems. Getting a Work Visa should not take long (A month tops).
