Re: hi

not bad and you?

Re: hi

I am planning to land in Canada this June, but due my job commitments here in the UK, I will need to return back within 2 weeks time and then I am thinking of re-entering Canada permanently in early 2012.

Re: hi

Once I land in Canada and apply for PR card to be sent to my friends address, Can I then ask him to post my PR Card to me in the UK or is there a problem.

Re: hi

Also When I am thinking of re-entering Canada in early 2012 as above. Will there be any problem with the fact that I wasn't in Canada when my PR card arrived and that it had to be mailed back to me in the UK.

It takes about 30 -40 days to get the PR card. It is strongly advised that you leave Canada only after getting the PR card

If you want to leave before you get the PR card you need to apply for PRTD ( PR travel document) to renter Canada. Same will be issued after the embassy verifies that you meet the residency obligation.

If you choose to reenter Canada by non commercial vechile ( like your or rented car from US) then CPR will be sufficient to re enter in Canada

hi ankit
PMM replied that it should not be a problem to do so.

I will then ask my friend to post the same to me here in the UK and then travel with PR card, still do you think is there a problem if I don't want to apply for travel doc ?

Thanks,

If your friend can mail it to you then it is not a problem. In case it does not get issued because of any reason then u need to apply for PRTD

Is there any urgent way to get PR card before leaving Canada? Actually I read on internet and we have to show some additional docs. to them like travelling docs. to get them satisfied that we will not be in Canada for 30-40 days.
