Hello members,
I am a Canadian citizen 29 and my girlfriend is a Filipina 24, we have been in LDR since 2020 July; given this pandemic situation we could not meet eachother yet. If I meet her in 3rd country , can I sponsor her for visit visa atleast, I know Canada does not permit online marriage. Do you guys have any idea how I can bring her to Canada as Phillipines is closed for tourists, I cannot get married in PH. Please share ur thoughts. I really appreciate ur help. Thank you.

She is the one who needs to apply for a visitor visa. You don't sponsor her.

She can apply for a TRV from her home country. That's the best way to do it. Not from a 3rd country. To be approved, she will want to show ties to her home country such as employment, property and assets. She will also want to show that she has sufficient funds to pay for her trip to Canada. If she has previous travel to countries requiring visas such as the US or UK, that will be a benefit.

To sponsor her for PR, you'll either need to get married or live together for a full year continuously to become common law. You can certainly get married in a third country. That is fine. You are right that online / proxy marriages are not accepted.
