So my question is what to do when you get layoff on lmia?? Everything was fine, my husbands boss told him on saturday dont worry we are gonna be busy this winter, and then he texts them on monday morning that all of them are on layoff affective from tomorrow ( from today dec 6)
He didnt rescpect some aspects from the agreement, so is there anything that they can do about this? Can he just like that give them layoff? Two guys on lmia and one with opw?

It depends what terms they were hired under.

Yes - it's certainly possible he can let them go.

Again, depending on the terms they were hired under, they may qualify for severance pay.
 
Under what terms he can do that? He brought foreign worker to work
For him, didnt he have to show to goverment like all the jobs that he have? Not after few months oh im sorry i dont have any morework for you guys.

So there is nothing we can do?

1. If the employer doesn't have any work, then he can lay off employees with sufficient notice., In Ontario if employed less than 3 months, none required, 3 months to a year, 1 week.
