gotcha. guess we will have to order the other set now. thanks! :)

No problem :)

Just a minor correction :) - the Privacy Act is to get information on yourself only(no matter the office). If you want both yours and your spouse, then order under the Access to Information Act which is $5 as you rightly said. Your spouse also needs to sign a Consent Form(IMM 5744) giving CIC permission to release his/her notes to you.

When you do the privacy act, your notes will only cover the information from Mississauga. Access to Information is 5 bucks and will show you the notes from Mississauga and Ottawa.

wait, now i'm confused again. so if my husband filled it out requesting information about my file (permanent residence), will we get info from the visa office or is it still just info from Mississauga? All the info entered was about the immigration file on my behalf.

Because you are in canada, you can or your spouse can fill out to have the information for your file. The system can not differentiate if it is you or he asking. What Seniorita is talking about really only comes into play when someone has an outland sponsorship ongoing.

When I ordered my gcms notes because I was curious to see what was included in them I received both my husbands information and mine. His information was in the beginning of the file, mine afterward. I don't know how in depth his really was as I wasn't all that inclined to care, I just skimmed to see if anything fun was written. It was quite boring actually. LOL

Im also still waiting for my Notes.

Finally got a response from ATIP. My only hope is that when we get them, they have been generated on a more recent date instead of June 2nd (original request date).

It reads:
This is in response to both emails sent to our office.

Thank you for contacting the Access to Information and Privacy division mailbox. We apologize for the delay in responding to your message. Please be advised that our office has experienced a significant increase in client inquiry volumes and thus, we appreciate your patience.

Please be advised that A-2014-xxxxx for the electronic permanent residence file concerning xxxxxx is still processing. Due to the high volume of requests, we were not able to complete your request within the expected time frame. The information will be forwarded to you as soon as possible.

We sincerely apologize for those unusual delays.

You need Access to Information, and not Privacy (Privacy is free from what I remember). When you select the correct category, it will prompt you for the $5 via VISA at the end.

Ya, you r right. I have just done it ..I couldn't done it yesterday n day before yesterday. Couldn't let me upload document though required specification of file were ok..

I have no clue what is going on with mine. At least they finally responded. Hopefully within 60 days of the request date!

Just got my notes. I ordered them June 19 and 30 days would have been this past Saturday, so I was surprised when I got them. Thought I would have to email and wait. It says - Date Generated: 2014 - 06 - 19

Nothing interesting in the notes though...Oh well!

Hope everyone gets their notes soon!

Ya mine were nothing interesting. Mostly Not Started.

Only thing was an email from March where Etobicoke was asking Mississauga if they were going to continue to process our file, or transfer it to Etobicoke, as we have sent in a request for Information in regards to Criminal Rehabilitation to the Etobicoke office. My husband crossed from Canada to the US illegally in 2005 to see his mother. He was not deported but asked to leave voluntarily, which he did. There does not appear to be a similar offense under Canadian Law, so we were unsure if we even have to undergo the Criminal Rehabilitation or not. Anyways, this email was sent to CPC-M back in March, and there is no reply on file yet. *sigh*

NO other personal notes, and even for me to be approved as the sponsor it says Not Started…..almost 1 year!!!!!!!!!! And NOT started?!? Geeeze…

It does show they did my husbands RCMP check and it was clean.

It looks like our medicals (which were done in June 2013) were extended to Sept 2014….but at this rate not sure if we will even have anything by then.

I wonder how long I should wait to order them again? Since they take a min of 30 days, not sure how long I should wait…

What I am wanting to see if how they are viewing the Criminal Rehabilitation thing, as well as any personal notes they might put about our relationship.

We just got my husbands new Passport, since his current one expires in November 2014, maybe a few weeks after we send that in will order more notes??
