I know it's silly but: Due to an unfortunate clerical error, the way my last name in English was spelled on my passport was changed 5 years ago (main name language is arabic). I now have to renew my passport and can request a correction. Problem is:
Spelling 1:
- It is my preferred spelling
- It's on my diplomas, therefore my wes
- It's on my bank accounts
Spelling 2 (one less letter, but same pronunciation as it's a trasliteration form Arabic to English)
- It's on my marriage certificate
- It's on my old passport which I used as ID for IELTS so on IELTS result as well
The thing is I'm going to be applying for a new passport soon as mine expired. Is it better for me not to correct the mistake to the spelling I want? Is there a way cic will allow me to make the change afterwards. I am really used to writing my name that way everywhere so it will be annoying to have to relearn how it's written all over again for all my future paperwork (we use english almost everywhere here so it's a second nature to use that spelling)
