Hi everybody,
We r in the process, my wife wants to change he last name to my last name, if she does it, is there anything we should do with immigration? Like filling and sending forms or informing them? Will that cause delays in our process?

Thank you.

I have the same situation. my plan is once the file transfers to the vo I will forward relevant name change documents. Whether it will slow the process seems to be all over the map. I have to think this is a fairly common occurrence and if you get the information to the vo early in the process it can't be that bad.

I changed my last name to my husband one while our application was in process. I am not sure how you can inform CIC, I had a legal representative who took care of everything for me. Maybe send them an email or see if you can change it on your ecas. It does not cause delay to have the name changed. The last name on my ecas is still my old last name.
