language requirements - the higher the better?

I've got overall 6.5 band in IELTS (L -6.5, R -7.5, W - 6.5, S - 5.5)
I intend to apply for Master degree in McMaster, Ottawa uni or Western Ontario uni)
On their websites stated that language req. is 6.5 , nothing written about minimum score for each part.

The question is how does uni assess ilets scores, is it GO/ NOT GO meaning if I meet minimum requirement it's OK or the higher the score the better my chances? Should I try to improve my band?

Is IELTS required for study permit?

overall u need 6.5 with minimum of 6 in each
according to me try to do good in speaking and yes it makes a higher chances to get visa if u have good scores

even if 6 in each part not mentioned at all?
i asking about admission chances,are my chances higher if i have 7 or it does not matter once i meet minimum required?

they will accept you but u cant ay about the VO wheyher they will take scores less than 6 in one module
