Hi, I am aware that the current laws (and political atmosphere) puts a strong requirement on people applying for citizenship in Quebec to have French Language proficiency. My girlfriend (and potentially soon to be wife) is French speaking Quebecois, living in Quebec, so I would end up applying for citizenship in Quebec if we choose to go this route. My question is whether the French language requirement applies for applicants applying based on marriage, or whether the government makes an exception in these cases (i.e. family sponsorship as opposed to people applying independently).
Thank you very much.
