Language proficiency proof for citizenship

Hello,

I have a question about language proficiency for citizenship.

I completed the Business Administration Diploma with Co-op program at ILAC International College, a private college in Canada. For citizenship applications, we are required to provide proof of English language proficiency. Does a post-secondary diploma obtained from a private college also qualify as valid proof of English language proficiency for the citizenship application ?

I did some research and found informations from government website on the below. It doesn’t mention the any difference between private and public.

I'm not aware of any specific public/private distinction, but it would be generally understood that the institution should have some formal accreditation as a degree-granting institution. (I can't say about 'diplomas', I don't know if that's a regulated term). I see/know ILAC has some type of accreditation, so maybe that's okay, maybe not.

If you have any doubt, honestly the Canadian language test (whatever it's called) costs about $250 and a few hours of time total, and it's not a bad option to just remove the uncertainty and potential delay in the citizenship process. Just make sure to take the test for citizenship.

(We did this with one family member because of uncertainty about whether it required degree completion or current enrollment, or if a couple years enrollment in the past was ok. Probably it would have been fine but seemed easiest to just write the test)
