Landing Posts?

Good Day everyone!

I have spent some hours searching for landing posts on the forum. I have read many but they all seem to be just specific questions about their situation.

I was curious if anyone has the links saved to posts that maybe discuss just the regular landing protocols when traveling by land.

I am sure there is a wealth of information in posts out there but finding them has proven to be a bit difficult for me.

My husband sponsored me (Outland Spouse). I am a US Citizen from NYC. He lives in Ottawa.

The landing process, at Toronto airport in our case, was pretty simple and straight forward. It took less than 10 minutes. Just gave the immigation guy my wife's passport with visa attached. Record of landing was folded up and stapled inside her passport.

One point to remember: make sure the one landing has an address to send the permanent resident card to!!

Simple, quick procedure. I don't remember any questions being asked.

What kind of information are you looking for? That might be easier to answer. My husband is an American citizen and he just landed a few weeks ago, so if you have any specific questions feel free to ask.

I will go read those.

I wanted to know about crossing by land and filling out the B4. How specific people were when listing items?

I read that they recommend models - serial numbers etc... I am assuming this is for larger items?

I am a professor therefore I have many reference books for example. I was hoping not having to list everybook individually.

Maybe I sound silly but I just want to make sure I do it right.

i had 2 boxes of books, and i wrote "2 boxes of books" and gave a value for all the books. it is not necessary to list every single item separately. they are not going to go through your belongings, they don't much care what you have as long as it's legal. list the type of container the item is in, what type of contents are in the container, and give it a value. serial numbers are helpful for large electronic items, especially for items to follow. that's it.

Yes, the serial numbers are more for large electronics, weapons, etc.

My husband has a few boxes of clothes and comic books that he might want to take up here someday and he just wrote "box of comic books" and "box of clothes" etc.
