Yesterday I called the CIC help line to ask if the address change I submitted about 3 weeks ago had been applied and whether there would be any affect on either remaining processing time or landing procedures when my wife lands hopefully soon (no visa yet but hoping it's imminent). The address change has not yet been applied, and I may need to change it still once more. My question to those whose spouses have come through: do the immigration people at the border ask for your destination address & can they potentially get sticky if it doesn't match what they have in their records ... or do they even have an address at their disposal? The CIC person wasn't sure but thought that there could be a problem if no 'match' was present.

They do ask the applicant for the address they will be staying in Canada. They need this address so they know where to mail the PR card out to.

This is all just my opinion but I seriously doubt they will check to see if it matches whatever address they have for the sponsor in the system. All (I think) they will care about is if the address is in Canada.

yes, this is my opinon too. also, how are they going to chck the sponsor's address. it's not listed on the copr, and most likely doesn't come up when they check their computers. for outland applicants, it's quite obvious that the pr is moving to a new place. i doubt they care, as it does not seem to come up in anyone's stories about landing.

I suspect that you won't be getting much sleep tonight, since you land tomorrow...or tomorrow night either. ;)

Congratulations!

um yeah, especially since i took my car in for an oil change and it turns out i need new brake pads, rotors and calipers! also took it for a second opinion, and it definitely needs to get done. talk about upping the stress level. at least it will be done today, and i will be safe on the road! most of my stuff is already packed in the car, including my winter tires!
