So I finally got the CoPR document, that I need to land in order to become a PR. I have a dilemma and maybe someone can help...

I'm trying to get a loan for a car, but as my SIN no. is temporary, I can't get it. So...

I called to get an appointment in Hamilton CIC, but they said I might need to wait 6 weeks...

I have a US visa, but my family does not, therefore I can't take them with me for shopping in Buffalo.

Can I have problems if I go to Buffalo myself, land my CoPR, and after that land my Family through CIC in Hamilton? Anyone done this before?

hi if you can just do shopping in canada at niagara outlet or any other mall then no need to go to buffalo for shopping even our dollar is pretty low so it will be expensive overall. :P :P

and for landing you dont need visa.
so take your family with you. and at border tell them ur purpose is to do flagpole landing for pr so they will give administrative refusal for US and then ask you to take U turn towards canadian side where you have show that paper and again tell them your purpose so they will tell you to park and enter the buliding and then landing process will end with some normal questions and when you and your family and that officer signs your copr. they will take one copy of copr. and greet you as pr. done :D :D :D :D

i am planning to do same just waiting for my passport and copr.

next day go for sin and health card.

Can anyone please tell, are the photograph specifications for the express entry and the specifications for PR visa same??

I have to send my passport with my 2 photographs...just wondering can i use the one that I have uploaded in EE profile?

One other question - the letter does not say anything about a photo, CIC page (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?q=748&t=22) does mention photos. I sent two photos already for the PPR (got one back on the form) and I don't have more. To land CoPR do I need to make another set of photos?

As far as I know, the EE profile pictures are for identification, while the ones you send, are for the PR card. So the ones you sent MUST be according to PR card specs (I think PPR e-mail even gives you the link).

ya i will do that once i get my passport back probably i will go next week.

From what I read about flagpolling, it seems to be not that much of a problem if you are not admissable to US (say, lack of VISA), but as soon as you ARE admissable, the so called "Administrative Refusal" will pop up on your "US profile" and there is a good chance that you will be asked about it. I've seen reports of people trying to fly to US after flagpolling and they were questioned about it. I don't know how much of a nuisance it is and how much it can actually be a problem. Therefore I recommend anyone doing this - investigate properly.

Coming back to my original question, as it went unanswered, I'll try to paraphrase:

- I have US Visa, my family does not.
- I called already to book an appointment at CIC Hamilton (waiting to get a call back)
- I might need to land faster (my family does not need that), so I'm considering shopping in US and landing on the way back.

My concerns:
- As I landed on the border, can my family have issues by landing inland?
- If I made appointment request for the whole family, if I land BEFORE getting the call, will that request be cancelled after I land? Should my wife call separately?
- Are there any other issues I might expect?
