LANDED..........

Hi to All,
I landed in September and applied for my PR and return to my country of residence. I got it already with me.

I have my personal effects with me and i intend to post them or send through a friend who is also landing for the second.

1.My question is do i have to pay tax on the things? they are winter shoes and clothes, they have already been used not new. I am coming from Finland and have invested on good winter stuff. Winter is also very cold.

2, My daughter has not also landed she will be landing with me from my home country, do i still have to show any proof of funds. I showed the funds when i landed for 2 people and save some of the money in my Canadian account.

Thanks and waiting for a response.

1. Did you declare these personal items when you landed? (You should have declared all of your personal belongings on the B4 form during your original landing.) If you declared them, they will not be taxed.

2. No - you don't have to show proof of funds again.

No i did not declare them because i was not moving anything more than clothes and shoes. They are used things already not new. I thought used things can not be taxed.

Only clothes nothing like electronics and anything else.

Thanks please let me know.

You won't be taxed if you are bringing less than $800 value of goods upon returning Canada.
