Hi All,

I am 33 and currently working with an IT firm and have more than 10 years of experience in Software Test Automation. My CRS points came to 409 with the CRS calculator. I have a Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering. Since my educational degree and my are of work is different, would I have a lesser chance of getting an invitation?
If so, do you know any course I can do in a short time to show that I have a relevant degree in my job?

Thanks in advance! New to the forum and would appreciate any points that may help.

No - this will not mean that you have a lesser chance of being invited. Your education and work experience do not have to be the same.

The main issue you have right now is your points. Unfortunately 409 is too low to be selected. You'll need to increase your score to around 470 if you want to be selected through Express Entry directly.

Thanks a ton for replying with suggestions :) 409 is too low, I agree. But even if I try to excel in the IELTS I’m not sure how to inmprove my score to as high as 470 :( I do not have any relatives in Canada, no work experience in Canada, and also highest educational degree is Bachelor of Engineering. Do you think I would stand a chance in any PNP programme as I feel that would be the only way I can get more points? Could you point to any way to improve scores?

Thanks in advance!
