I'm sure others have probably experienced this before and it is really stressing us out. My gf is from the Philippines and has worked in Canada for 2 years as a live in caregiver. I myself am a Born Canadian Citizen. I plan on marrying her next year after I ask her father for her hand. I would marry her sooner If I was able to but I am currently working on my Education Degree. The problem is her Visa has expired now and she has applied for a extension. What are her chances of getting a extension and is there anything I can do or anyone I can write to help her get it?
If she doesn't get her extension how else can we keep her in the country without marrying yet? I know there is a spousal visa i believe she can apply for later, but she won't be able to reenter the country for some time due to neither of us having money.
