Hi guys, i got an admission in a Canadian university last month, while filling the imm 1294 form i found the question about former visa dnials, a K-1 USA fiancée visa petition has been returned by the US embassy to the USCIS last year (2021) and honestly i don't know the outcomes of the termination notice, should i mention that in the imm1294 form ?
US embassy has refused a tourist visa petition in 2017 too.

Yes mention it. You can clarify that it was returned but you don’t know what the outcome was.

You need to mention both refusals.

But does it affect the decision of giving me the visa ?
What if mention the tourist visa only

If you only mention the tourist visa refusal this will be misrepresentation (lying in your study permit application) and you can expect to be refused and banned from Canada for 5 years. The US and Canada share information widely and Canada will know about both refusals.

It is mandatory that you declare all previous refusals to all countries.

Thanks for your reply, the problem i don't even know the reasons of denial of both visas, what would be the proper respond please ?
and does these denials will affect my application for the canadian study permit please ?
thank you

In that case you will have to say that you don't know the reasons why both visas were refused. However you still need to list both refusals. I have to say that is seems pretty strange that you don't know why the K-1 was refused. One would think this would have been a pretty big deal for you and your future partner and that it would have been a priority to understand why the visa was refused and to reapply.

Yes, it's possible these refusals may impact your study permit application. But you have no choice but to list them. You will want to make sure the rest of your application is very strong - that you have strong ties to your home country and that you have selected a program to study in Canada that makes sense in light of your previous work experience and education. Make sure you are also attending a decent school. Stay away from all private colleges and universities.

Ok , that's clear enough, yes i got an admission to a masters programme in ETS Montreal, and yes we are trying to get married and apply for a CR1/IR1 visa so do you think i can mention that in my explanation letter ?

There is another guy on this forum with a similar case to me who has been rejected for a US tourist visa , he didn't mention that in the imm1294 form yet he managed to get his study permit

He got extremely lucky in that case. If you want to roll the dice on a 5 year ban from Canada, your call.
