Hello everyone.

I am a Canadian Citizen living in Canada. I just submitted the Outland Sponsorship Application for my wife in August.

The Sponsorship Application is now being processed by CIC Mississauga.

My Question is, can I travel Abroad for couple of weeks? or I must stay in Canada during the process?

Are there any negative effects to the application If I travel Abroad during the process?

I just want to travel to my wife's country to visit her for couple of weeks.

Please Help . Thank you so much!

There should be no problems at all for you to go see your wife for a few weeks.

Enjoy your vacation! :D

Yes! You can go for as long as you like, because you are a Canadian citizen. If you only had PR status in Canada, you could still go for a `short trip', but in your case...you can stay in her country as long as they'll let you stay.

Thank you for the quick reply :D

I heard that the sponsor is not allow to travel outside of Canada during process of the Sponsorship application being assessed by CIC Mississauga.

After DM1 and file being transferred to Oversea offices, you are allow to travel?

Correct me if I am wrong .

That's why I am confused if I can travel now

Not sure where you heard that. I suspect you're confusing the sponsor and the applicant.

An Inland applicant is advised to remain in Canada for the duration of the process.

The Canadian sponsor is free to leave and return anytime.
