So I have been dating a woman in Canada for 3 years and we are engaged. I travel to Canada 6 to 8 times a year and stay a week or 2 each visit. I have been doing this 3 years. I am 1.5 years from retirement here in the USA. When I reach that time I want to move there. few questions.
1. I would marry her now but I think that would effect her disability and her child tax credit(she has 2 small kids). I don't have a clue how that works since we would be married but I would be a citizen of the USA and still live here. Should we wait to marry?
2. Since she is on disability she physically can't work. How will the effect her ability to sponsor me? I will be more than willing to work when I move there. I also have a decent retirement account as well as a pension I will be collecting.
3. I really want to marry her now but I don't know if that will cause financial burdens on her. I can't afford to maintain a home in each country. Should we wait?
