All,

I want to hire nanny for my kids. I advertised last week on couple of websites and interviewed few candidates.
But all are foreign care givers. I learned that there are recently some changes in care giver program. Does that mean if I satisfy all requirements like ability to pay to nanny , then I do not need to get LMIA? Can I directly send job letter to the candidate?

When this new program will be effective?

I will highly appreciate experts response.

Thanks

Do you think caregivers who are currently in canada under work permit can also sponsor immediate family for open work visa same as the new programs?

No.. they can’t. They need to apply for PR by completing 24 months of work in Canada or through the interim program (12 months) before they can sponsor their family to come. They also have the option to apply to the new program so they can sponsor their family.

Can you share us the link where it says that LMIA is no longer required and any other useful links for the benefits of everyone.

Thank you in advance.

Of course.. as long as she qualifies.

Thank you Foladare. Sorry for throwing this question here but maybe those who have come across the resource might be able to help sharing the link. Since LMIA is no longer required, was there a mention about the the advertisement requirement before hiring a foreign nanny? Is it still required? Thank you in advance.

Nope.. no need.

As far as education is concerned. YES!

She also needs to take IELTS though and get a police clearance.
