Hi everyone, just want to know how difficult it is now for people like me to apply PR by CEC. I have a valid post-graduation work permit, still have a little bit over 2 year. I am moving to Toronto to find better work for me. I heard that it is very difficult for employers to heir people like me now since the elimination of recruitment and advertisement exemption for international students graduating from Canadian Post-Secondary Institutions on June 6th. My family has been worrying sick and press me so hard made my life hell. They told me only employers with personal connection with my family are willing to heir me and the employers need to fake heir reports also lie about my job; so I am going to be the my employers' personal bitch. Is this true? I mean, if it is true, than Canadian government may as well just send us home already.

I don't know what your area of work is, however, I think you're overestimating significantly the impact of this on PGWP holders, particularly those like you who still have two years left.

Employers care about you being legally able to work. You care about getting 1 year of qualified work experience.

I've personally never had an employer ask me what work permit type I have or even period of validity but I'm sure that varies depending on occupations and industries.

That's just what I was thinking, but none of my family listened to me. They believed that the process is very hard for the employers to go through, that no one will hire me.

Do you have any work experience yet in a skilled occupation? Have you read any of the program information yet?

Are you sure that Toronto is the best place?

Perhaps you (or they) have misunderstood. That change only affects people whose PGWPs are about to expire, and who need to apply for a new, temporary work permit. You have more than two years before you have to worry about that. Your PGWP is an open work permit, any employer can hire you.

My family has been worrying sick and press me so hard made my life hell. They told me only employers with personal connection with my family are willing to heir me and the employers need to fake heir reports also lie about my job; so I am going to be the my employers' personal *censored word*.

Perhaps your family just wants you to come home. But it is true that some foreign workers are abused by their employers, but their fear makes them put up with it. You have an open work permit, you certainly don't have to put up with it.

Without having any idea of your qualifications or career interests, tho, there's little else we can say.
