Hi everyone, i just received my PR Visa after all the wait. I currently reside in the US though and I am in the process of getting my PR card here. Will this affect my landing in Canada in anyway, as I am preparing to move as soon as possible? ive read on some topics that they ask questions about your usa status and could that cause any problems at the point of entry? thanks.

Congratulations!

are you saying that your US green card is also in the process? what's your plan? which state are you in now?

yes, my green card is still in the process, i am currently residing in the state of maryland. i need to know the landing procedures, and whether or not they stress about your USA legal status? Thanks.

Well, if you have a status or not you'll tell them the truth - they are not worry about how far you are in the US green card process. Once you get the PR for Canada, you are eligible to enter into Canada if all approved at the point of entry, they have nothing to do with your status in the US, they may ask if you stay or will go back and if you do then in how many days. Your status will not stop your entry, they already know your status when you files your application - however if you lie about your status, then it may stop you from entering Canada.

Star,

how far are you in the US green card application? have you think about if you get both and need to choose between the two?

from what i heard it takes a while to get green card here. do you have a valid visa stamped in your passport about your current status here? or did you change status?

Congratulations. When did you apply?
