Hello,
I have a quick question regarding the employment letter that I have to submit in order to apply under CEC:

in my employment letter, it says that "I worked for the firm for 36 hrs/week from Sep 2008 to April 2010, which is equivalent to 19 months".

is this sufficient for the purpose of stating the employment period or should the letter state the employment date more specifically(such as from 02/09/2008 to 30/04/2010, etc)?

thank you

Even the months are fine, the dates can be taken from your appointment letter and resignation letter.

Even if they COULD find that info elsewhere, why would you want to make the IO work to find it? :)

I don't know all your details (are you qualifying as a foreign worker or student?). In my opinion, the letter should have exact dates.

I say this because you worked 36 hours, which is (smile) part-time in CIC's eyes, so your time does not count as 19 months, but somewhat less - they (and you) will have to calculate the equivalent based on a 37.5 hour work week - and to do that, they need to know the exact dates.
