Hi all,

I'm going to be applying for Express Entry, and will be including my partner in the application (he doesn't meet the CRS points requirements alone). We have been in a common-law relationship for 5 years, and have our funds separated into our individual accounts.

My question is, when submitting the proof of funds, is it acceptable to have the total value required amount split across two accounts, or should the principal applicant (me) have all of the funds in my account alone?

Thanks for any advice,
Charlie

No two accounts is fine, that's how we're doing it. We're appending the secondary applicant writing a letter allowing primary for use of the fund

Thanks Hambgha.

Is there anywhere online that says two accounts is fine? I haven't seen anything other than anecdotal evidence, so I'm curious to hear if anyone has successfully applied using this method.

No but it doesn't matter. They don't even mention one account. They just want to know your funds are yours and not borrowed.

Haha, sure. I guess my only concern is that it doesn't say either way. But cool, thanks for the info.

I'd still be curious to see if it explicitly mentions somewhere that this is fine, or if someone has successfully completed the process using two accounts as proof.
