Hi,
Looking forward to join my wife who is studying in Toronto. Started looking for representative but they are just charging me $500 and more plus application fees. Do you think it's worth going with them and apply through them. I'm just confused what form should i fill up and what documents are required as it's not clear in CIC website.

no, not worth it at all. If you don't have any previous issues with immigration, you can do it all yourself

the application package page will give you all the forms you and your spouse will need to complete as well as guides that explain how and who needs to complete each form. take the time to study it

Thanks a million for your help do you have any link on the website where i can check. Is it best to apply for visit visa now or open work permit visa as dependent.

Here's your link: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/spouse.asp#country
If you are living with your wife in Canada, you can apply inland, in that case you can also apply for an open work permit. You cannot apply for a work permit with an outland application. You could apply for a visitor visa now if you are living outside of Canada, then join your wife and apply for the spousal sponsorship inland along with an open work permit.

Wrong link. OP's wife is an international student in Canada on a study permit. OP needs to apply for an OWP based on his wife's study permit.

OP - You're posting in the wrong section of the forum for the kind of question you have. I would recommend you move over to the International Students or Foreign Workers section of the forum. This is where you'll find discussions on this topic.
