Hey guys,

I realize this has been discussed already, but I have a more specific concern regarding job titles. Hoping the seniors could provide more input.

My situation: I came under the IEC program with an open work permit, and am a few days away from being here 1 yr. My employment is with a government agency as a junior analyst on the team. Due to hiring and certain other restrictions imposed by our oversight, I was assigned a title of Management Intern. There is absolutely no flexibility to their approach - including the reference letter they will be providing.

Based on my experience and qualifications, I wold be applying under NOC 1122. Although my title is Management Intern, the job description is almost spot on with that of the NOC code. In addition, my position reports directly to a department manager, and further, is considered a leadership role within the organization. After going through the NOC list designations, the most befitting title would be a either of the following: Public Management Analyst, Management Analyst or Organizational Analyst.

1. My question therefore is how much of an obstacle would the title of Management Intern, and more specifically the "intern" component, present in terms of consideration for "skilled work" experience? 2. Also, is there anything you would recommend to potentially mitigate or get ahead of this issue? Any feedback would be most appreciated!! Thank you...
